The Visual Communications program at Chemeketa Community College offers a general degree in graphic arts with an emphasis in graphic design. Students may elect to take additional coursework in photography, fine arts, illustration, web design, advanced software and art history. Students wanting to gain experience in the fields of prepress and printing technology may do so with Cooperative Work Experience and Special Projects. The program takes two full years to complete beginning in fall term. Many students spread their work over three or more years, which allows for more in-depth study and taking additional classes.
